Leagram Organic Dairy

Bob Kitching has brought the art of cheese-making alive for thousands of people in his popular and unique demonstrations around the country. You can buy his great cheese direct from the dairy, or find his completely organic products in many local outlets.

Organic creamy, crumbly, mature and soft Lancashire cheese is made on-site, and for those that enjoy Lancashire cheese with a unique twist there are pineapple, apricot, apple, ginger, garlic, mint, cranberry and many other versions. Bob also makes organic red Leicester, double Gloucester, Cheddar and Wensleydale, with organic milk sourced from Mr Parkinson at Inglewhite and Mr Sanderson at Woodplumpton.

One of the country’s largest producers of sheep milk is on the Leagram Estate and Leagram Dairy uses its organic milk to make sheep’s cheese – a regular version with a delicate flavour and a soft version, which is ideally suited to slicing and cubing – that you can buy from the dairy or from Sheep Milk UK.

Food for thought...

  • Look out for Bob’s colourful "cheesy" waistcoats and ties that are specially made by a lady in North Devon.
  • The Leagram Dairy demonstrations are a real joy, as hundreds of Lancashire schoolchildren discovered last year, when Lancashire cheese-makers got together to fund a special demonstration programme for more than 20 local primary schools.
