Robinson Bros Butchers

Founded in 1906 by William Robinson, the great-grandfather of present incumbents Mark and Robert, the family used to have their own abbatoir in nearby Longridge, where their own cattle, sheep and pigs were slaughtered. Foot and mouth and EU regulations forced them, along with many others, to close, but the good news is that this family business in the centre of Chipping is still going strong. The Robinsons feel it is important for people to be able to buy good quality, locally produced products and know exactly where they have come from.

The Robinsons buy pork and other meats from Bowland Forest Foods, source lamb from Willows Farm in Longridge and beef from Graham Robinson at Whitewell, as well as Startifants, their own farm at Chipping. Locally made Lancashire cheese from Inglewhite's, Sharrock's and Greenfield's Dairy in Chipping is also on sale.

A recent diversification is Uncle Bob’s ice cream made with milk from their own herd of Ayrshire and Jersey cows and cream from Ken Thornber in Chaigley.
